Our speaker Erica Oram gave a wonderful and very inspiring talk last night, talking about her particular take on photography, illustrated with a large number of her fascinating and great quality images, mainly people and street photography. She shared with us the reason why she took each image and what attracted her about each image. People with their dogs being a particular favourite!

She stressed how important light was, whether it was on railway lines or making interesting shadows. She encouraged us to look for the unusual shot, not the one that everybody else would take, also to look at things differently, even the seemingly ugly!! It was a really stimulating talk which hopefully will have inspired members to get out and to try things which are different and ‘out of your comfort zone’.
