Putting a black and white frame around an image using Photoshop 7

 

 

 

Once you have finished editing the picture-

Make sure the background colour in the colour palette is white

(or the colour of the border you want)

Go to -Image – canvas size

Make sure relative is ticked & unit of measure is as you want e.g. mm - and make sure it is showing in the centre of grid.

Choose size of border to put around the picture and click ok

 

This adds a white border

To put a black edge to the border select the whole picture –

go to select –all

 

Short cut keys- Ctrl + A

You should now see the ‘ants' around the outside of the whole picture

Go to edit then come down to stroke

Choose the options that you want

Click ok

Deselect the picture.

Go to select –deselect

 

Short cut keys Ctrl+D

 

You should now have a thin black line round the edge of the whole picture with a white mount. (if these are the colours you chose.

Please note:

This process will make the picture larger than the original. You may want to resize it to fit your paper ie go to image – image size and complete as desired.
