How to run a Simple Slide Show with manual indexing.
(“Windows Picture and Fax Viewer”)
Open your folder containing the images.
Left Click on “View”, “List”.
Left Click on “Edit”, “Select All”. (They should all turn blue).
Right click on any of the blue area.
Scroll down to “Open With”, then across to left click on “Windows Picture and Fax Viewer”.
Your first picture will open in a new window.
Left Click on the screen icon at the bottom, fifth icon from the left.
The pictures will start in a slide show. Pause them by moving the mouse up to the top right hand corner of the screen and left click on the pause icon, (two parallel vertical lines).
Move your cursor out of sight off the right of the window, when the top menu will disappear.
You can now index your images manually by operating the “Enter” key, for forward indexing, or the arrow keys for forward or backwards control.
To leave this mode move your cursor back to the top right hand corner of the screen and the short menu will reappear.
Either click on the red “X” to exit, or the “Play” (green) button to resume the slide show.
Note: you can use this small top menu to move around your images manually also, but it is tidier to do it from the keyboard, with no screen menu showing.
