Jo Bradford: Smart phone photography

04/11/2020
Last night we welcomed Jo Bradford to talk to us. We had been looking forward to Jo's talk since she talked to us last year and she didn't disappoint! Such a self-effacing lady, so talented in many ways. She has featured in many magazines and on TV (Counrtyfile). Very inspiring - and full of useful tips and website and app ideas. Her website 'Greenislandstudios' is well worth a visit.

She showed us what fantastic images could be taken with a smart phone with a decent camera by showing us many of her images, mainly of Dartmoor. Technology is improving them all the time and moving smartphone photography forward.

A very enjoyable and informative evening, with members from Tiverton and Dulverton CCs joining us.

Some of the apps mentioned by Jo can be found here:
SKRWT - perspective and lens corrections, cropping etc.
VSCO - photo and video tools; used by Jo for B&W work.
Snapseed - photo editing for Android, iPhone phones (and Mac/PCs too).
SlowShutterSpeed - for long exposures.
ProCamera - for taking control of exposure settings etc on mobiles.
