Weds 6th | Talk: Victoria Hillman, wildlife researcher and creative photographer | Victoria is a wildlife photographer who comes from a scientific background. She takes an ethical stance and that comes out in her talks. She has a style of photography all of her own – it will make you just want to get out with your camera!She says -‘My passion is to share with people the way I see the natural world in the hope that I can help to change peoples’ perceptions and inspire them to get outdoors, understand, enjoy and conserve its beauty. I always put the safety and welfare of both my subject and the environment first even if this means missing a crucial opportunity. The trust that I am able to build up over time with my subjects is very rewarding, allowing me to enjoy and capture aspects of their day to day life."An open meeting , we hope to fill the lecture theatre. Weds 17th | Talk: Ann Cook | A second visit from Ann, who comes all the way from Wells to speak to us. She is highly entertaining and great fun. A passionate traveller and accomplished portrait photographer, Ann gets to places we may not dare! Those of us who have been around for a while will remember her talk with prints called 'Granny Goes to Glastonbury'. Now all digital her talk will be on her photographic life, people and festivals. We would like a full house if possible and there will be a total charge of £3 per member instead of the usual £1. | |||
