February Competition

28/02/2024

Last night was the February competition - themed 'Colour' and Open. It was great to see so many members present and also it was really gratifying that 16 members had entered prints. The entries were of a high standard and the themed were certainly colourful!! Simon Caplan was the judge, he proved to be a great judge (imho) offering great suggestions and making us laugh as well!! He complimented the club on its high standard of entries and commented that it was good to see so many prints entered. It seems to be a dying art!! It is also great to see so many different names on the 'Honours List'. Many thanks to everyone who entered, to Simon and to Huw for running the competition seamlessly and also for sending the results to me so promptly; saves me so much effort!!

There is no change in the order of the top 4 places in the 'League Table', I'm still just about hanging on to top place with Peter E still hot on my heels and one or two people are racing up the table!! Mentioning no names but they keep winning!! The results and league table will shortly be available on the website.

I thought it was a great competition and a great evening!

There were a few notices. Next week (6th March) is again at the Rugby Club for our annual Battle with Dulverton Club, it will be good to meet some of their members face to face after having met them for so long over Zoom. They have some fantastic wildlife photographers and they usually beat us, even though they only have a handful of members!! A few people offered to bring cakes and help please! Dulverton have always been very generous with their refreshments when they entertain us!!

Then the following week (13th March) is send in date for the March competition (PDI) - themed 'Leading Lines' and Open. It soon comes round!!
