April Competitions 23rd April 2025
Last night was our last Competition of the season, with the theme as Light and Shadow and of course the Open sections

The judge was Peter Otley from Weston who had the hard job of appraising and judging the prints. As always there were a great range of images, the themed section giving particularly dramatic images. Congratulations to everyone who achieved Top Ten status and thanks to everyone who entered and made it a great competition to round off the season. Special Congratulations to Lynne Thomas who had all three of her images in the Top Ten, (1st, 2nd and Highly Commended!! - wow)

Our grateful thanks to Huw, who is stepping down as Competition Sec, what a fantastic job he has done!! I think (hope!!) he will be hovering in the background to help guide us through the transition to the Competition Group taking over!
Don't forget, it's the WCPF Members' Exhibition at Magelake, Uffculme from Sat 3 May - 16 May, with the presentations starting at 2pm, Six members of WDCC have had images accepted and a couple will be picking up awards. Also a few members who have exhibited for a different club have also had images accepted. As it's in our area, it's such a good chance to have a look and some great images and support our members.
Our season starts again at the beginning of September, with a pre season get together in August, you will be kept informed by email and details will be on the website soon!

As you probably know, I am standing down as Secretary and from the Committee although I seem to have taken on various other roles!! - not what I intended!! So this is probably the last meeting report! I will be doing the minutes of the AGM, so thank you all for putting up with my ramblings and not moaning too much when I have made stupid mistakes. Gail Cropper will be taking over from me after the AGM, as per the Nominations made in the last couple of meetings.
